The first Music Hall & Variety Hour
was performed as part of Morning Melodies at the Victorian Arts Centre, 20th April 2009 to over 2000 people aged 9 to 90 yrs old!
Backed by the legendry Shuffle Club and with guests that include the legendary Barry Crocker AM, the scene is set for the finest stand-up comedy, sideshow acts, musicians and acrobats to collide! With unique interpretations of songs that she has become known for in The Famous Spiegeltent, with Opera Australia, and on such shows as ABC's Spicks and Specks, Ali McGregor takes you into a world of sing-a-longs, vaudeville hits and fancy tricks!
Expect operatic surprises, spontaneous duets and unique moments of greatness.
The Line-up for the first Morning Melodies:
Barry Crocker AM - Singing some classic Big Band Numbers
The Shuffle Club - Our very special House Band for the day. Their style is most easily described as a hot blend of jazz, swing, blues, and boogie but that hardly does justice to their raw energy and enthusiasm.
Denise Scott - One of Melbourne's best comedians, Denise is also known for her radio work on Vega FM and numerous appearances on Spicks & Specks.
Saxon McCallister - My comedy butler. The less said about him the better...
The Great Gondos - An act of clowning, daring and contortion "High energy clowning ... rivals Buster Keaton." The Adelaide Advertiser
